They discuss the history of the show's troubled production, the ways Sam Levinson and Abel "The Weekend" Tesfaye rejected the show's original premise - and director - as too driven by a woman's perspective, and the difference in execution between "The Idol's" overhauled storyline and Levinson's hit series "Euphoria."
