Wasilla Man Indicted in Anchorage Teens Murder: Ataja Banks Remains Found in Mat-Su Valley
A Wasilla man, Ian Millard, has been charged with second-degree murder, manslaughter, and tampering with physical evidence in the death of eighteen-year-old Ataja Banks. Banks, who went missing in November 2023, was last seen in the Valley area. Her remains were discovered last month in the Mat-Su Valley. The Alaska State Troopers, who led the investigation, believe Millard was involved in Banks murder. He was arrested on September 5, 2025, and is currently being held at the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility.
