Jeannie Hebert-Truax, a basketball legend, is set to retire after a remarkable 32-year coaching career at Wasilla High School. With numerous state championships and the record for most wins by any girls basketball coach in Alaska, shes leaving an indelible mark on the sport. Her journey began in Fairbanks, where she earned three player of the year awards and led her teams to two state titles. She then made history at the NCAA Division one level. Born and raised in Glennallen and Tok, she excelled in various sports before finding her passion in basketball. Her achievements have earned her spots in four halls of fame. As she concludes her final season, her legacy continues to inspire generations of athletes across Alaska.
