Cameron Boozer, Dukes freshman forward, has been named the 2022 Associated Press Mens College Basketball National Player of the Year. The nineteen-year-old powerhouse averaged 22.5 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game, leading the Blue Devils to the top spot in the AP poll and the number one overall seed in March Madness. Boozer, the fifth freshman to win this title, joins an elite club and is already in pro conversations. His father, Carlos Boozer, a Juneau, Alaska native, also played at Duke and had a successful NBA career, becoming the first Alaskan in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
