This recognition, effective as of March 31, 2026, allows Anchorage to collaborate more effectively with land managers, tourism teams, and funding sources to maintain and expand its trail network. With over 120 miles of paved paths and 50+ miles of dedicated mountain bike singletrack, Anchorage offers prime trails within a 20-minute drive from any city location. This achievement, following two decades of effort by five local biking nonprofits, boosts community pride and positions Anchorage as Alaskas premier trail destination.
