Layla Hays, a freshman center from Wasilla, Alaska, has joined the University of Iowa womens basketball team. Despite the long journey, her family attended the N-C-A-A tournament. Raised in a sports family, Hays chose Iowa for its strong culture and top coaching. Shes adapted well to the Big Ten conference, scoring 123 points in 305 minutes this season. Despite homesickness, shes embraced her role and looks forward to inspiring young athletes back home.
