Show Notes
Alaskas wild salmon face threats from hatchery strays, which often go undetected and inflate stock numbers. Despite evidence of lower spawning success and weaker genetics, the Alaska Department of Fish and Game has not enforced a two percent limit on hatchery strays. The Alaska Board of Fisheries is set to meet in March to discuss potential restrictions and protect wild salmons genetics and productivity.
