Alaska House Passes Bill to Boost Funding for Legal Services Corporation: The Alaska House has approved a bill to increase funding for the Alaska Legal Services Corporation, which provides free civil legal aid to vulnerable individuals. The bill, House Bill forty-eight, would raise the agencys share of court filing fees from ten percent to twenty-five percent, adding about four hundred sixty thousand dollars a year. This additional funding could serve around eight hundred more Alaskans each year, up from roughly six thousand two hundred in twenty twenty-four. The bill now moves to the Senate.
