Daylight Saving Time begins this weekend in Alaska, with clocks springing forward on March eighth. While well lose an hour of sleep, well gain more evening light as days lengthen. In Anchorage, sunrise will shift to eight thirty-seven a.m. and sunset to seven forty-four p.m. Although mornings will feel shorter for a couple of weeks, the sun will catch up by the vernal equinox on March twentieth, marking the start of astronomical spring with nearly twelve and a half hours of daylight.
