Mark's role at Global Witness is to lead a global campaign that's focused on combating money laundering in the context of corruption in the natural resources sector.
For 25 years Global Witness has been studying the links between natural resources, corruption and conflict, involving scandals spanning illegal timber, illegal mining, corrupt deals in the oil sector and more. A key element of any one of these scandals has been the way in which the global financial system facilitates the laundering of the proceeds of those crimes.
