The 2024 Democrat platform calls for the repeal of section 1031. The plan references it as a loophole for wealthy investors. However, it’s been around for 100 years because it actually adds to the tax base, jobs, housing, neighborhoods, farming and the economy. Every four years we must remind our senators, congressmen and the president of the math.
