Hector Zazou comenzó a grabar discos bajo el nombre ZNR en un dúo junto con Joseph Racaille. Su disco de 1992, Sahara Blues, le rinde homenaje a la poesía de Arthur Rimbaud, para este proyecto invitó a colaborar a grandes músicos como Bill Laswell, Dead Can Dance, John Cale, David Sylvian, Ryuichi Sakamoto y Tim Simenon.
