It's "Russia National Day," the anniversary of Russia declaring its sovereignty from the Soviet Union in 1990. The US State Department sent congratulations, even as Russia continues to violate the sovereignty of its neighbor, Ukraine. Nobel laureate Oleksandra Matviichuk is pushing for “justice and accountability” as negotiations continue for an end to the Ukraine war.
