Managing Your Life, Ethics, and Your Inner Circle with Tom Ierna

Seeing his uncle build this big beautiful house on Long Island, Tom Ierna remembers saying to himself as a kid, "Wait! I want to be able to do that for myself too." That turned out to be the starting point that has driven Tom to become successful in his 20's. He was a kid from Long Island, New York who always felt special in a weird way. He's relaxed about everything and lived with the attitude 'life would work out its own way'. Tom happened to be always around a lot of successful people during the process. Tom always did well in school but when he went to New York city to go to college, it wasn't so much about college. For him it was just to live in the city. Though only 28, Tom feels like he is 40 and a lot of people say, 'He's an old soul.' As an 18-year-old Tom started his bead and bracelet business from a hotel boutique which soon started selling online and to celebrities. He soon rubbed shoulders and shared space with popular names like Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan. But Tom was always ethical in conducting himself. The moral values he learned at home as kid, he always carried with him. Living by them made him attractive to people who continue to work with him. Listen up, as Tom speaks about how he lives his life with honesty, integrity and with the right character, in a world like Hollywood where there's so much drama that's opposite the personality of Tom. Insights from the Episode: I taught myself everything, learned on my own; I really don't know what I really got from college if I'm being honest You can manifest anything you want, if you put out the work Some people are so good at something that they don't even recognize what they're doing and it's hard for them to explain it or potentially teach it back to somebody Knowing right from wrong: your morals, values and all that is important It's super important that you be very honest I am here where I am career wise because I'm just very honest with people If you believe in something; you should defend yourself, stand up for yourself and don't let people walk all over you It's really important to surround yourself with a good group of people: like-minded people It's very easy for me to work through things and if I do something wrong, I'm very able to see that and apologize. It's very easy for me to clean up the mess, if there is a mess I like to actually hang out with older people who are successful Everything will always work out, it always does in some way You just got to keep good people around you that you could fall back on and not get stressed out by certain things You just don't want the appearance of being successful, you actually want to be successful Social media used to mess me up a bit. It would make me feel insecure. I would see other people that were around the same age where it all looks like 'it's so pretty'. But everybody has their own issues If you create regardless of what it is, it ultimately will make you happier It's really important to take time to check in on yourself to make sure you're happy Just be more calm and not worry about what everyone else is doing, just focus on yourself and if you work hard you know it's going to pay off It's not that hard to be successful if you're willing to put in the work. When you're working hard eventually something's going to stick but you got to have like a direction Everybody wants to be famous these days, but it's better to 'just calm down' As human beings, if we don't grow we're going to be stagnant and being stagnant doesn't lead to good things

Leadership Strategy for Life and Business with Colonel Garth Massey

Garth Massey has been a colonel in the marine corps, was in the reserves and was on active duty for four or five years in the 90s. Then got off and have done about four years of mobilizations and tours and stuff. He's put all that into about the last 26 years, he's been strapping on the green suit and playing the game. He started his company a decade ago-- teaching leadership programs for different levels of people: beginners and the experienced. They have offerings for different stages for different people-- both companies and individuals. They are teaching to implement military leadership processes for entrepreneurial businesses. Thousands of business professionals and Marines have trained through their CommandReady program on how understanding leadership in professional and personal lives can create new opportunities. For them, success meant creating cohesive teams, inspiring innovation, building and promoting stars based on the principle -- we achieve more when we are open to learning. Leadership is a process, a journey. Through continuous learning, practical application of ideas and personal reflection, leaders can shape environments that improve business outcomes, drive innovation and improve retention of key employees. "Never stopping to learn makes everyone on your team better" is a strong belief of their team. In this episode, Garth talked to Manny about a few topics like: How the military has shaped Garth in becoming a better man. How an adult can have a direction and purpose in life and can strive to achieve it. The process to work with your values. What does Garth still struggle with and differences in styles between being in the military and being an entrepreneur. How do you condition someone to empower them to become good in spite of their doubts and feelings. Insights from the Episode: The military has systematically broken down by age and rank like things you can do to help continuous learning Operational design: It's that thing that connects your goal to tactics and strategy. When done with intentionality and on purpose, we call that continuous learning Motivation is like coffee which lasts just for 5 minutes, shoot for Inspiration instead. Purpose and direction are key elements of leadership. If you internerlize them--you're living by your vision, you're living your philosophy If you're not truly living your purpose, only thinking what can I get, how can I get, what's mine; all those things will ring hollow and it doesn't work Commanding is the most overused and often the most negative style of leadership When you get to the place where you're actually applying stuff, you're getting to the level of mastery where you have a degree of competence in your field. You build greater confidence, try new things, make small adjustments and really start to customize it and make it your own. In the process of developing mastery: passion starts kicking in, now you're at this place where you're like 'I'm pretty good at this' When you do your thing at the mastery level, people around you start changing, they feel that energy: that is Leadership When you're authoritarian and kind of dictatorial in your process; what do people do? they resist. You could go down a rabbit hole of trying to follow somebody else's past because we feel so certain about everybody else. But we should have that same certainty about what we should do. It's always harder to know what we should do It's not about choosing the right path but it's about choosing your priority Human beings are wired to acquire a target and track it down and crush it, that's how we work You're filling the space in your head and your calendar and your day with noise; you are achieving nothing, you're doing nothing, you're just spinning plates everywhere If you think having multiple priorities works for you, how long do you want to play that game? In the military, in tactical parlance; we say if you have more than one main effort, you have no main effort at all In the moment that you're in, do that thing and do that one thing well, and stop trying to do ten If you got a side hustle, you're not doing your hustle right. So either let the hustle go and get on the side hustle and grow that thing Most people should not be entrepreneurs, they don't have the risk tolerance for it The longer and harder you work on your values; the more refined your understanding becomes and the easier it becomes to embody them, show them or live them or discuss them or debate them. 'Make more money' -- that's not a value, that's like a task, that's a thing, it's a byproduct of a life well lived Even chasing happiness is a dangerous undertaking We should be looking for a flourishing life; it's one where good things and bad things happen to you and yet you're growing through it and you're improving Even in pain we can get something, we learn at the pain of adjustment Internal motivation is way more powerful if you don't lie to yourself, and that takes courage You have to have the cou

Guest Links: http://jaysamit.com https://twitter.com/jaysamit https://www.facebook.com/jay.samit/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/jaysamit/ Insights from the Episode The purpose of life is to live a life of purpose With a growth mindset, you realize that obstacles are just opportunities in disguise and you move from there You only need two things to be successful in life: insight and perseverance There are opportunities-- the nuggets that are out there, that no one's bothering to pick up If you can take perseverance and transform it into passion, that passion will cover you through the rough spots, it'll move you forward Don't fly solo, you will need a series of mentors, no one got there on their own There is no such thing as a self-made man or woman You have to discover what your superpower is: we all have something that makes us unique and if we can lean into that, we'll get further in business Most of the successful people that you know, their first businesses were failures When you fail, you don't end up where you start. You either earn or you learn but either way you're further along the path Entrepreneurs don't sell things, they solve problems Disruption isn't about what happens to you, it's about how you respond If you're broke it's not your fault, but if you stay broke it's your fault When you don't have money, you learn how to do things without money You got to stress yourself beyond belief Whenever you're thinking of giving up and you think like the dream is too far away, you pause and look over your shoulder how far you've climbed and you amaze yourself The harder you work the luckier you'll get I like to go where there's no competition; it's the same amount of work and you got nobody working against you; and when it gets crowded there's always something new, the world is constantly changing In business, the first person you will educate is not the customer, it's your competition Go and start a business with who's going to acquire it in mind Even if you just have a job, even if you're just doing gig work; there's a better way to structure it than you pay me this and I'll do that Today's customers want to buy from companies that share their values The competition is spending hundreds of millions of dollars; you got to find every which way you can to get noticed It's amazing that, you can come up with that half idea and watch people take it further than your imagination and refine it and make it grow into something The fun is to do something nobody's done before, anybody else would have done it better, but you will be lucky enough to do it first

The 3 Lessons Manny Learned on His Trip to Legoland.

When you're trying to 'live in the moment' everyday of your life, you will be able draw out lessons from every one of the experiences you go through. Some learn lessons from pain and disease, and some through hardship and adversity. Manny learned the lessons from a different experience. Manny recently went on a trip to Legoland along with his beautiful lady. The reason for the trip, nieces and nephews, brothers and sisters! But it was all about the KIDS. It was a big ol' family fun day. It was a busy and packed day fully loaded with excitement, fun and enjoyment. Yet, Manny being the creative individual that he is, made it a point to think and document a few lessons to observe during the trip. Here he will share these lessons with you that are applicable in real life. In this episode you will learn 3 Lessons Manny learned on his trip to Legoland. What to do when you're afraid of going into certain situations that make you feel anxious and nervous. Is Adventure worth taking the risk? Should you finish everything that you started? Insights from the episode: There are times when we actually find things that we're afraid of -- things that make us nervous and scared; but then the moment we pivot from being at that emotional state to going into it and getting involved and being a part of it; that's when the transformation starts to take place The real-life experiences which once made you nervous and scary but have become fun later on: use them as a triggers to get yourself into the right mental position when you're starting something new, transfer that old energy, use it when you're getting ready to do something you're uncomfortable of: like going to speak in front of a group If we allow ourselves to be controlled by what other people are telling us to do, and we keep ourselves in these boxes and live without doing our own research and searching and hunting for the facts, thus playing scared; then we don't necessarily get in position to have the experiences that life has to offer to us I'm not going to be told what to do and I'm certainly not going to surround myself with someone that's going to be told what to do Make your life an adventure; do the things that you love to do, find that thing that gives you a thrill and don't be susceptible to being controlled by the narrative and what other people are governing you to do We're just being projected too much news right now that's inaccurate; and it's affecting a lot of people's quality of life Sometimes you know those phones can get in the way and they start to suck up our life and it prevents us from actually being able to enjoy the idea in the moment If you stay until the end and finish what you start, you will reap the benefits In life, if you finish what you start, you develop a reputation for being someone that executes and gets the job done

How I Approached Grieving with Euthanizing Our Dog, Bubba..

We go through suffering, right? Yes, we all experience pain and grief. Maybe you've lost a boyfriend, or you've lost an animal. We lose people that we love, things that we love, animals that we love and therefore there are tremendous experiences of that loss and it is not the nicest thing on the planet to experience. Because, we have those bonds with people and with our most beloved animals. But this experience of mine, it was so sudden. It was a big thing for me that startled me and really broke me down. Bubba was a big old bulldog with a face that only an owner could love, because that boy had a grin on him with an underbite that nobody could like unless you had love for that big guy, the handsome devil. He's just so sweet, kind, and loving all the time. Truly a man's best friend. He was my dog, my dad's dog. He was the family dog. He was just one that brought everybody together. About the incident 8 year old Bubba has been with us ever since I was running restaurants and these last 5 years since I've been sober. Suddenly Bubba started to have health issues. His stomach started to look awkward as it was growing outward. He was just panting for no apparent reasons. After been taken to the Vet and after some blood samples and X-ray, it was discovered he was developing cancer. In a few weeks the cancer developed into a big bummer. It has metastasized to other areas of his body. There were just 2 choices: Have a surgery and remove the mass that is pushing his whole stomach and intestines to one side of the body and give him chemotherapy, or take him through Euthanasia (put him down) So, what happened next? And what's all this fuss about a dog? Why dedicate an episode for him? Is there a lesson or two for us humans to learn from him? If yes, what could the lessons be… Listen up to understand how I dealt with the grief of having to put this dog down, and surprisingly came up with a new understanding on life. There are lessons that you could implement in your personal life when you're in times of pain and suffering. Insights from the Episode: It's really about understanding and detail, and having definition People that aren't in control of themselves and haven't worked on themselves tediously over a period of time would have those strong reactions when there is very heartbreaking news When you do certain things in life it almost has this irony in it, where it rewards you in unexplainable ways When in pain and suffering; feel free to let loose your emotions and cry and let it flow through you, because that was probably the best thing that you could do I had developed myself in a way where I've healed lots of pain in my life in the last 5 years to come to this place where there's tranquility Surround yourself with people. Reach out and find support. Do not hold anything back There's always a blessing in every distressed situation Life is always unfolding, and that's never going to be the last time that we have to experience difficulty We truly have the power to be stronger than the certain adversities we're facing If you've been through adversity and you're still fighting and going through and you're still moving forward, then something tells me you're a Stoic

Dave Austin: High-Performance Coach Teaches Mental Processes and Winning Principles that Help You Succeed in Life, Business, and Sports

Dave Austin knew he was going to do what he doing today even when he was 10 years old. Coaching. A Couple of coaches he played under had these negative approaches toward him. He became slow and gained much weight because of a sarcastic comment from a Naval Sergeant coach in North Carolina, when he was actually quite quick in his play. His next coach's indirect talk in Hawaii made him lose all weight. "So at a very young age I someday want to be a coach; but I want to be a coach that's going to bring people up, not take them down", says Dave who went on to build his career around football, baseball, and tennis. Even after a car accident that ended his football and baseball careers, he became a world ranking professional tennis player. Dave lost every penny when he was in his mid-30s and he already ended his professional tennis career. He'd just started dating his wife and it was a night when they were supposed to go out to dinner and a movie. It was a humble pie for Dave when she volunteered to pay the bill, but Cathy loved him though he went penny less. Dave and Cathy have lived together for the last 40 years. Dave trained some of the best athletes on the planet, and actually gives them the recipes and tools to take them to the next level. He took the US Olympic team to Scotland for the world cup. Dave's 'Game Ready' process works not only in athletics but also in business because he teaches winning principles that are universal. Dave was in Hollywood as a successful actor, but when he decided to raise his kids, he left Hollywood altogether. Listen up to understand the preparation techniques of high-performance athletes like Tony Gwynn and Michael Young. Dave narrated a story about how he took a major league superstar from the worst season of his life to the best season of his life. Things get interesting when the superstar had to face another client of Dave on the opposite side of the game. You can also learn about Dave's Crocodile RESPA formula which helps you act wisely even in very high-pressure situations. Next, he talked about the things superstars are doing differently than the average guys. Finally, Dave's five-step process works for any disastrous situation. About The Guest: Dave Austin is a High-Performance Mental Coach, Founder of Extreme Focus which helps Navy Seals, Actors and Producers bridge the Gap. Dave is a former world-ranked tennis player who now coaches elite athletes in the NFL, MLB, ATP, the Olympic athletes, as well as business professionals in the Fortune 100 and 500 companies. He has lectured all over the world including at the Global Summit at the United Nations, Harvard, the US Pentagon, the Presidential Summit in Tashkent, Uzbekistan and at the World's Women's Wellness Congress in Chennai, India. Living a rich life filled with many experiences, one of his most honored achievements, apart from his 39-year marriage to his wife Cathy and raising four incredible boys together, was back in 1991 when he received the Presidential Merit Award from the Grammy's. Insights from the Episode: I'm a great observer and that gives me the ability now to coach, I observe greatness Tony would get to the ballpark before anybody else, though he is the best hitter in baseball Just before his training Tony would just stand there and stare at the ball; so he was training his brain to focus on the only thing that really matters. We have so many distractions in life, those distractions keep us from our objective As a coach when I work with players, I teach them how to get their brain just to focus on what's important We have so many different distractions and it's easy to be distracted, but it's training your brain to work for you rather than against you that matters A lot of us just go to do things; we don't go to that level that extra level of preparation There are many people that will learn things and so they know it, but that's where they get stuck. But you've got to go from knowing it, to doing it, to being it and that's a daily practice Most Valuable Players -- they do the littlest things, they don't leave anything unturned Some talk about the devil all the time, it's almost like they worship the devil. Let's not give that much power to something that is so negative. It's not about the results; it's about who you are in this present moment. It's the journey and how we approach today I surrender to a much smarter, more creative, more everything than I can be by myself If you let your emotions get in front of your objective, you're dead; get your emotions behind you Gratitude can shift everything; it's the best thing to do in any situation If you have the courage to step through; on the other side is a whole new world of universal laws that are available You have to become aware of some of the habits y

People with chronic blood disorder-sickle cell anemia die in their 20s or 30s. In fact, his sister passed away aged 27. He had these pain crises since he was 8 and the only way to minimalize the pain is with heavy dosages of medicine. This continued till his 30s. Often he'd be sick in the hospital for weeks. Coming across a book by Personal development coach Les Brown proved to be a major turning point in Ty's career. The business Ty started after quitting his job, was generating millions of dollars in sales and totally transformed his life as well as the lives of countless others in just a few short years. In his childhood, Ty lived in one of the worst areas in the USA where epidemics broke out. "State troopers and police officers were afraid to go because they could get shot at. They would be running out of their cars", says Ty. It all sounds like something that you would only see in a movie. Despite all this, Ty Cohen went on to become a Tycoon of kindle publishing and built an empire to the tune of multi-millions of dollars a year. Today, Ty is changing people's lives by putting together programs and which can affect millions of people whom he'll never meet. Listen to The man who should have been dead by the age of 17 was able to use the adversities of sickness and poverty to build several multi-million dollar businesses. 67 - Gabriela Lopez- Building a Life from the Foundation, Up

At 18, Gabriela Lopez, ran away from her family who realistically speaking, she says, "are very old school type. Their thinking is like: a girl stays at home, gets married and that's what she does." So, Gabi said to herself, 'that's not her way to live, everyone looks so miserable in that kind of living'. She moved to LA with $10 in her pocket and into an apartment with 8 dudes from high school. "It was the funniest and craziest time of her life." She said. She set out to build a solid and pure foundation but just on her own terms. Of course it was very difficult to go through all the challenges she was putting herself in. Now, Lopez is a fitness fanatic. And, today she is chasing the dream of becoming a superstar fitness trainer. She is also into acting. And not to mention, she's soaring in the social influence space with an Instagram following of 97K. What We Talk About What does pressure mean? What is Gabi's definition of pressure? What are good and bad pressures? What has been the anchor for Gabi to constantly pursue growth, what was the ignition to move in the right direction and not give up as a woman Who/what are the reasons for 90% of everything Gabi does and why she works so hard What was the reason for Gabi to put so much emphasis on her fitness For folks that are stuck and not working out, what can they do to start building their own path to success How do men or women if they're dating and having these breakups, equip themselves from not ruining themselves completely What is the best definition for accountability What difference has it made for Gabi building the social influence that she has today? and a community of people that like, trust, follow and expect certain things from her? What are Gabi's suggestions for women to be more confident What's the next big thing in store for Gabi, what else is on the agenda now that it sounds like she got her identity back What would affect the sensitivity sensor in Gabi's life Actionable Quotes We perform better under deadlines At the end of the day you are the reason for 90% of your consequences because you put yourself in these situations You need to be okay to do things without needing someone to validate your choice After a workout-- that high and the endorphins flowing through the body, there's nothing compared, nothing can give you that kind of joy Of working out--- it's not about the physical, it's the mental If you're going to mess up, which is inevitable---pick it up, learn from it and don't do that again If your foundation is solid, anything else that comes to you you're going to be able to give it and keep going because your foundation is so strong The fear being alone keeps a lot of people in really bad relationships If you really want something sincere and beautiful, your approach needs to be soft People aren't getting opportunities because of a lack of intelligence or a lack of education and knowledge The creativity that spurs from working out ---the ideas and the possibilities and the imaginative flow it's endless so that's another purpose for working out

What we talked about: What struggles Brian as an entrepreneur had to climb and fight on his way, all the bumps and hurdles that landed him in the awesome place that he is today How does one learn to trust the process if he doesn't know necessarily how that works How could we educate people who're afraid to trust God about why that's important How are things different today: what adjustments is Brian still using to improve the outcome for the people that come to his events What are the dots that are to be connected Was there a point in Brain's life where he was tested to let himself away far from his identity What would it take to reach that level of success, just in 1 word according to Brian Noteworthy Quotes: "Even things that happen to you that you think are bad, may not actually be so bad when you look back" Brian Forte "The circumstance that is making you feel bad in a moment may be the circumstance that pushes you to where you really feel great" Brian Forte "Those low points are often times like tipping points to push us the other way" Brian Forte "Storms don't last forever even really those bad storms" Brian Forte "Appreciate the grind; appreciate the crap, the problems, the work, the stress along the way to success" Gary Vaynerchuk "When you're in a serious business and you take it seriously; you don't work hours, you work whenever it's necessary" Brian Forte "Successful people work, successful people don't stop" Brian Forte "Any time I have ever put my trust in God, He's always come through" Brian Forte "There's only one True Source for that real trust and that is having a relationship with Jesus Christ" Brian Forte "The only way to know if it's going work is to close your eyes and say 'God I give this to You' " Brian Forte "Just because you can't meet the payroll, that doesn't mean God is saying 'close the business it's not a good idea'. Maybe it's God saying 'Hey, how committed to this are you? " Brian Forte "If it's in your heart and that desire is there and it's not going away, even though it's a struggle, it's difficult you just keep going; you keep on that road, and eventually you will see those breaks " Brian Forte "We have so many God-given talents that are there to be utilized" Brian Forte "If we recognize God in our life and those talents are from Him and what we have is from him, we give it over and turn it over to him" Brian Forte "God will use us and do things through us that are unimaginable, but it starts with trust" Brian Forte "There's a lot of hurting people out there; lost people need help and it's our responsibility to help them" Brian Forte "Having that higher power in your life helps you to help other people, it helps make a difference in their lives" Brian Forte "Without that higher power in my life I would never have been able to do the things that I've been able to do, God has propelled me so far beyond what I could have done on my own" Brian Forte "If you want to have abundance in your life, have the increase, things of a good value; have a relationship with the Lord" Brian Forte "The gospel is simple: we have a loving God who created us to worship Him" Brian Forte "If you want to increase wealth, abundance, joy, extra power; find a Bible" Brian Forte "Without a relationship with The Lord, you could never find joy" Brian Forte "It's impossible to have long-term lasting joy in your life unless you have that foundation" Brian Forte "If you will bring the spiritual into your business, you'll be more successful. 60 - Anil Gupta: Forgiveness, Love, Relationships and Why They Matter

Do you need clarity and focus in life? Are you loaded with baggage that are holding you back? Do you have issues in relationships in both your personal and professional life? Have you ever tried virtues like Forgiveness and Love? Forgiveness Expert Anil Gupta says 'Forgiveness is the Express Pathway to Freedom' Anil is on the mission to make a difference in the lives of millions these days, and he has made transformations in people's lives, overnight, sometimes just from single consulting sessions. But, back then, he had been through his own deepest valleys in life. Times were very challenging for him in 2008, so much that he even contemplated suicide. He was thinking, he's such a failure even if he did try and commit suicide, he might even mess that up, as well. Those days, having his identity around money and being surrounded by rich people and constantly comparing himself with them, he thought he'd lost everything. But, an absolute stunning eye opener came for him when his wife asserted that his identity around her and the kids is very much there. In this episode Anil says, 'We do things for other people thinking that's what they want; all you have to do is have that simple conversation with someone, "What is it you want from me, what would make you happy"; and you'll be stunned by what they say. Now, do you accept your children as they are? See below the insight from Anil. She had been a horrible student in her student days barely graduating, but once she started working with these huge technology companies that's where it sparked her interests in learning. She learnt everything there is to learn about business and entrepreneurship from her once upon a time, co-workers and bosses. "When you're working in a company, you have the social aspect, you're working with people but when you're a non-working mother, it's more isolating and lonely when you're just home with your kids." Maria worked for MySpace and other Tech startups that inspired in her, the social aspects. MySpace connected people, which is especially what mothers, ultimately need. It was when Maria found these other mom groups, only to find there was mom shaming, being mean, or judgmental at one another. She thought, she's getting older, and there is no time to do all of that, so she wanted to create this community of women who inspire, who look out for each other, who support, who loved to laugh, who love to have a good time and do not judge each other because, all women are going through all of it together. In this episode, you'll learn: Where Sean started and what he's gone through, the bumps and bruises he had along the way, ultimately to where he is today. What was going through Sean's mind as he went through adversities, how did he strategically combat and fight through those. How could that really help somebody to think that and say, what you're going through is only temporary and it's part of the process. 2 bags that Sean carries with him every time, how his journal makes him a lot of money. The actual strategy and a 3 step process for someone to find their way through insecurities, to pass through them. 16 things in Sean's win life work's list. What's the strategy for someone to find themselves comparing against somebody and say this is not the right thing. Examples of leaving the comfort zone, what does it mean for somebody to be out of one's comfort zone? Is tolerating pain an important part to live a good life? How do you stay so centered and develop the passion and patience for yourself in a world where there's nothing but uncertainty. Message of inspiration to the listeners. Key points in the episode: The bumps never stopped, the bruises never stopped. It's a misconception that when you succeed the bumps and bruises go away. I think the bigger game that you play the harder you get hit. It's all about figuring out how to navigate life to avoid the bumps and bruises to the best of your ability and acknowledging it's still going to come. Confidence is the result of taking acts in courage, taking acts in courage is the result of knowing that you're moving forward in the queue. When something is temporary and it's 10 years, it sucks. Time is a very elusive thing because all that exists is now; your past is not yours, your future is not, all that exists is now. If you're creating a life that you love, every 'now' is enjoyable, but if you're creating life where you're waiting for things to be done and to 'feel good', your 'now' is always going to suck. When you want to succeed in life, you only prove it to yourself if you're doing something now. If you don't enjoy your life without money, you won't enjoy with money. If you don't enjoy life without love, you won't enjoy with love. When you want to succeed in life, you only prove it to yourself if you're doing something now. You won't have that life that you love, if you allow your insecurities to garb your dreams. But if you're on the win life SUCKS' list, it will tear you apart; your insecurities will run the show. You have to have a connection to your life's purpose. Everyone is born for a purpose, to nudge the human race, planet and the universe forward. When people hate what they do, they're not connected to their life work. We have to be supportive with the empowering environment; you have cut off anything and everything that is lowering your vibration. You need to compare yourself to yourself, are you evolving? If you're doing it right, you should always be embarrassed of your previous self. People who really play big in their life; they are constantly outside their comfort zones. I'm not going to return back to some place, which is negative and guilt driven just because I shared DNA. The more that you step outside your comfort zone, the quicker you realize how unstoppable you become. Pain is like a warning that says you're running low on something. You can't wait until you feel sorry for yourself, you have to move forward while you feel sorry for yourself. Your life partner reveals you what is repressed in you, what is not fully worked out and honed yet.

48 - Becky Dickson: Giving Yourself Permission to Make More Than Enough, Doing What You Love

How many times have you heard from highly successful people, entrepreneurs, and professionals, and they follow an early morning routine or ritual, which really gets their day going strong?! Well, Becky Dickson is all different. Her work day starts at 11 am in the morning. They talk about all the discipline and the grind they go through. But Becky says, "very rarely do I ever even approach discipline at all." Yet, Becky runs a 7 figure business and her Facebook community has over 18,000 members. Almost 10 years ago, Becky quit her job as a reporter and editor in a local daily, because of her minor mental disorder/ phobia. At one point, she was even afraid to leave her house. So, how did she turn out to become a very influential person? Especially with women today? Because of her indifferent attitude! Listen up, as Becky joins the, A Desire to Inspire with Manny Patrick Show, and talks about her journey. In this Episode you will learn: About Becky's journey, the evolution of things: Where it all started, how it all came together and ultimately what got her to where she is today. How she started as a reporter and an editor for a small daily but, had to quit because of her panic disorder. How she started her blog, which became very popular and how she turned that into a profitable business. The couple of books she read that changed her life. How successful people in their minds keep moving forward in making the right decisions no matter how they feel. How does one look at; the grind, hustle and disciplines, that are needed to become successful. In a world where there's influence from so many different figures, how do you own your identity in the process. How much time does one take to figure out who you are and continue to try on different voices and personalities. How can men and women build more self confidence and worthiness in themselves. What are the 3 non-negotiable exercises recommended for somebody to move from a scarcity mindset to an abundant mindset. What can we do with all the gifts and talents that we have, and, monetize them. Is "fake it until you make it" a good strategy or a bad strategy? One message of inspiration to the listeners. Interesting Quotes by Becky during the interview: Fear is a basic emotion, but it didn't have to run our lives. If I was afraid I was scaring based on what I was telling myself. I started to discover my world, it's discovered in my head. We get what we expect. If you don't feel very good about yourself, you're just not inspired to take action. When you feel good, you get motivated really fast. It's just what you tell your head, what you want to be thinking everyday, because that's going to determine how you feel on what you do for yourself. Women grow up with this feeling of; it's not my place to be in the spotlight. Most successful people in the world change what pleasure means to them. Motivation is self created. Thoughts create feelings and actions. Forcing yourself to do something will get you somewhere, but it won't get you where you're supposed to be. I don't need to work harder; I need to feel good about what I'm doing. I do it because I love it, that's NOT work. It's not even hard. You can love people from a distance too. Who is a joy to be around; you'll want those people in your life all the time. Every single day, write down 20 things that you're grateful for. Some only want how they need to complain, stay far far away from them. When you acknowledge what's good instead of harboring on what's bad, or sad or negative; you change how you feel. If you want the results, it starts in your head. Foundation is not what you're doing; it's what you're thinking. We're all laughing around waiting for somebody else to tell us- we're OK; we don't realize we can do that for ourselves any time. If you want something, you're given that idea because you have those skills of accomplishment.

47 - Peter Brandl: Crash Communication and Making Tough Decisions

Albert Einstein once said, 'It's never too late to have a happy childhood.' Peter Brandl (President of the German Speakers Association) like many other boys, had a childhood dream to drive Airplanes. But at 14, his dreams were shattered when a medical seminary said Peter cannot become a pilot because he wore glasses. But, at 35 when Peter was being successful in his career and consulting business, and learning that his glasses won't be an obstacle at all, his childhood dreams rekindled. He started taking flying lessons and soon became a licensed pilot. Sometimes you have a dream and you really want to do it, but once you have done it, you recognize, 'well there's no need to do it for the rest of my life.' From there, Peter went back to his prior job of running the consulting and training company. Today, Peter has done more than 3,000 presentations in 13 countries and on three continents. The airline pilot, entrepreneur, flight instructor and multiple author is one of the most unconventional and sought-after speakers in the market. In his inspiring keynotes, Peter turns passengers into pilots. This powerful speaker takes his audience on an exciting journey between airplane cockpits and business challenges. Peter joins the, 'A Desire to Inspire with Manny Patrick show' and talks about his journey, In this Episode you will learn: About Peter's journey, where and how it started. What the path looked like to get to where he is today. How he was able to realize his childhood dream of becoming a pilot. What made Peter decide that he didn't want to be a pilot any more. What's the biggest lesson he learned about himself in making the transition from a cockpit to feet on the ground, training, authoring and speaking. What are some techniques from the cockpit, to maximize an individual's performance in life. How does one create a culture or environment for someone to safely communicate where they don't feel like, because of a mistake they've made. Analogy of the functions of Brain with a computer, how stress plays a major role in the working capacity of your brain. How does stress influence our decision making and the mistakes that we make due to stress. How are people who are rational, smart and competent, often making very grave mistakes. How do they forget the obvious things so much. One message of inspiration for the listeners today. Interesting Quotes by Peter Brandl during the interview: What are your dreams? How long do you want to wait? Wait until it's too late? Should you change the question into what can you do to fulfill this dream, to make it happen. Are you living the life you want to live or do you find yourself in a situation you hate? What makes you stay there and what could you do to change it? I think we are on earth to grow and to develop ourselves. Biggest lesson that came from the cockpit is- Giving up is not an option. If you punish someone for their mistakes, there's a chance for them to hide their mistakes. We need the corporate culture- Hiding mistakes is even worse than doing the mistake itself. We have to stop acting as if we would not commit a mistake. Stress makes decisions worse; failures and mistakes more likely to appear. If you want to see the world as a good place, you will find enough proof to prove your opinion is right. We think we are rational people but we aren't, we think that we make rational decisions but we don't. Trust only the advices that you like. Stop your fears. Fear keeps us from trying. If you want to achieve something in life, you have to leave your comfort zone; you have to simply try it. Stop trying to be perfect and start to be good. The moment you stop trying to be perfect is the moment you can start being good. Make mistakes, that'll improve us. Make mistakes, be really prepared.

46 - Kevin Hogan: On the Principles of Influence and Persuasion

It's almost unbelievable… A few years back, Kevin Hogan (International speaker, Influence and Persuasion expert) got a telephone call from a government agency in Poland. They told him how Kevin was good at making companies make money and all, but they have a growing problem in Poland which is, 12 - 13 year old girls are getting aids because they're on the streets and truck drivers are stopping by. But, Kevin knew nothing about AIDS. He's totally ignorant at this point. However, they want to him to put together a program. He told them, "I have no clue right now of what it is but I will learn about AIDS and will come there. We will have a program set up and a plan that will work." Today, Poland has the lowest AIDS rate in entire Europe. Part of that reason was, somebody was good at influencing other people to do things that were going to be good for their lives. Over the last 10 years, Kevin cannot tell you how many of such incidents have happened where Governments or major companies said something he never would have thought of. Kevin authored 24 books in the space of Personal Development, Influence, Persuasion and more. He is a dynamic, well-known international public speaker, consultant and, corporate trainer. Today, Kevin joins the, 'A Desire to Inspire with Manny Patrick show' and talks about his journey, definition of influence, persuasion, selling and a few more. In this Episode you will learn: Where and how the journey started for Kevin and how did it unfolded. How can we consciously program ourself to influence our minds so that we're no longer responding to just the influence of others. The process for a person to find a top level influencer to build a relationship with, who could possibly be a mentor. How you grab somebody's attention in such a high paced world today and how do you keep that attention. In this process of influencing someone to make a decision how does it work for you to get someone to say 'yes' to you in any circumstances. What will somebody do if they wanted to build character? How will they start? How to go about that? How do you help others make decisions without having them feel pressured into it? How would somebody gain the language in a conversation around influencing sales. What does it take emotionally to become an influencer. One powerful message of inspiration for the listeners. Interesting Quotes by Kevin Hogan during the interview: Influencing is a cool feel and it's fun to have been a part of it. Selling is the most important thing that you can be doing cause if you don't sell, there's no income in the corporation, and nobody makes money. Do something really nice for someone who you want to hang out with, just a bit more. It's so important to cause people to move now, in this moment and time, towards a decision. When you're talking to a person who's going to be your client, you communicate with him in the same way you do with your roommate. As people see your work, whatever it is, they'll respect you. As you get better, you become an authority, an expert. People will come to you if you have that certainty about who you are, when you have a track record and you have an impeccable character. Pretty much everywhere I go; I really like to leave an impact, saying something good. If you have a great message to share with your customers start with the word 'imagine'.

45 - Mike Domitrz: Keys to Healthy Dating, Sexual Maturity, and the Culture of Consent and Respect

Mike Domitrz was very determined he was going to be on broadway, was going to be in movies, going to be an actor. He graduated high school, went to Chicago, did college, and studied theatre. Until one day while in college, he learnt from his Mom that his sister was sexually assaulted. The incident changed the entire course of his life and career, which in turn had changed many people's lives. He attended a program on sexual assault and decided then and there, that he's going to do something about it. He started speaking out in colleges, working in schools. He now takes a tour around the country, speaking in universities and military installations throughout the world, spreading the message of building the culture of consent and respect. Though a different topic compared to my regular other episodes, I've decided to bring Mike on to the, A Desire to Inspire with Manny Patrick show, as I feel this is a top priority, people's topic. In this Episode you will learn: How it all started for Mike, why he's decided to go down this mission and what got him to where he is today. What can be an ideal example about mutual consent between adults? Why most people are not sexually matured? How much of an impact do our parents' relationships have on our lives on that particular understanding / that knowledge? What the approach can be for somebody who's had the abuse, the rape incident but is afraid to speak up. What would be a complete step process one should take to get through that? Is there a part of our health that we should be focusing on more if we're worried or scared to date? How do people discover what their values are? What's the biggest thing that Mike learned about human behavior and his work in doing this type of stuff? One impactful powerful message of inspiration for the audience. Interesting Quotes by Mike Domitrz during the interview: People in our society lack sexual maturity because we lack the discussion skills. Our society don't talk about sex, it just makes sure people don't get pregnant or diseased. That's completely sexually immature. Every survivor has strength and courage inside them, that's really pivotal important for every survivor to know. The key to health and dating, it's a combination of emotional and spiritual. Lot of people in the dating world think, how can I make myself LOOK good. What we forget is how do I FEEL good about me, forget about other people's feelings. When I learnt to feel good for myself, I was different person; I was more attractive to be around. What energy do I walk in a room with? Not for others but for the universe and for yourself. If you wanna see someone's values, look where they spend their money and their time, especially their time. People want to do the right thing, but we fail to give them the 'how to' About the Guest: Mike Domitrz is an Award-Winning Author & Publisher, Educator, Ally, and Expert. He's the Founder of The Date Safe Project and has such an intense passion and drive to: Dramatically improve society's approach to healthy dating; Create a better understanding of how "consent" is obtained in intimacy; Reveal the keys to effective bystander intervention with alcohol and sexual activity; and Teach how to properly support survivors of sexual assault? https://www.datesafeproject.org https://www.linkedin.com/in/datesafeproject https://www.facebook.com/DateSafe/

40 - Chris Savage: Wistia Co-Founder on Building a Global Brand Through the Power of Video

Incredibly PUMPED UP about today's guest and, gentleman, Chris Savage who joins the, A Desire to Inspire with Manny Patrick show, who I met back in April, in Boston, Cambridge to be exact during a local entrepreneur night. But, in the beginning days, they were running crazy lean, living with 10 people in a house, spending 15 dollars a week on food and sharing it amongst all of them. Today it's much different, Chris now regularly plays tennis, meditates, and works out even if he has a mountain of emails to attend to. 39 - Victor Antonio: From the Hood to the Good, in Global Sales Mastery

I am so energized and fired up of the gentleman I have on the show today!! When I finally met him in person, I said, "shit he's a really tall dude!" But as it turns out, he is one of most authentic and incredible human beings, I've ever met. He comes from a pure place of just fun and energy, with love, a sales guru at that. So, it's my distinct honor and pleasure to bring Mr. Victor Antonio to the A Desire to Inspire with Manny Patrick show! He was the biggest introvert when he was in high school but now He charges USD 12,000 to 25,000 for a one hour speech nationally and internationally. He had a poor background where it was all poverty, drugs and gangs. But he managed to earn a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering and an MBA. He did well in corporate America. But, he did not have many people who wanted to help him or assist him along, during his journey. In this episode you will learn: Where Victor's journey started and what it took for him to get to where he is today. How does somebody who is unhappy and not moving forward, take themselves from where they are right now, get out of the way and do something smarter to go where they want to go. How do you get underneath the skin and get to take the necessary action when you already have all the information and know what you need to do, but taking the action is the real problem.
