We've all prayed for blessing, but what does it mean to be blessed? We may have used the word so casually in our culture that we have lost its biblical meaning, which is of something conferred or bestowed upon you by God that has consequences in time and often for eternity. Pastor Allen Jackson tells us what the Bible says about the extravagant blessings of God, and how they are distinct from the promises of God. "God has directed blessings toward us that are so remarkable, so unexpected, and so far-reaching that if His Word didn't guarantee them, the logical response would be to dismiss them as unbelievable," he says.
