It was prearranged that two runners would deliver
to David any communication from Hushai. So
Hushai sent a message to the two men, delivered
by a servant girl. It said, “Run to the king and tell
him, ‘It’s not safe to stay on this side of the Jordan
River. Cross over to the other side.’”
