The new novel from acclaimed writer Tayari Jones follows two friends, bonded together in childhood by the absence of mothers in their lives. But as they get older, one woman goes to Spelman College and finds herself in a new world of Black intellectuals, while the other dedicates herself to searching for her mother. Jones discusses the novel, titled Kin. Jones will be speaking at Barnes & Noble Union Square on February 27 at 6 pm.
