So why did he decide to betray them all by publishing an excerpt of his never-completed novel, Answered Prayers, which mocked them and revealed their darkest secrets? We discuss Capote and his "swans" with Laurence Leamer, author of the book Capote's Women: A True Story of Love, Betrayal, and a Swan Song for an Era, which was the inspiration of the FX series "Feud: Capote and the Swans."
