This research paper describes a new method called PAR, or Parallelized Autoregressive Visual Generation, to create images and videos faster using computer models. Typically, these models create images one piece at a time, which can be slow. PAR speeds up the process by figuring out which pieces of the image are not strongly connected to each other and creating those pieces at the same time. Imagine building with LEGOs – if you need to build a house and a car, you could build some parts of the house and some parts of the car simultaneously since they don't depend on each other. PAR does something similar with images, making sure the final result still looks good even though parts were built in parallel. The researchers tested PAR and found it can create images 3 to 9 times faster than existing methods without sacrificing much quality.
