OpenAI is making a major breakthrough with its new Orion model, which is built on the foundation of the mysterious technical breakthrough called Strawberry. Strawberry is a software that goes into the AI model and helps with logic and reasoning. It is not about making the models more intelligent, but rather adding extra software layers to enhance their reasoning abilities. The release of the Orion model, also known as GPT-5, is rumored to be on November 5th. OpenAI has also raised a significant amount of funding, with a valuation of $100 billion and potential investments from Microsoft, Nvidia, and Apple.
