Show Notes
Hello and welcome to another episode of After Work Drinks. We're starting on a somber note today, as three of the biggest fashion magazines in Australia - coincidentally the magazines that brought us together all those years ago - are closed. We talk about the legacies of ELLE, InStyle and Harper’s BAZAAR and (try to) instil a little hope in all you aspiring young writers about the future of the Australian media. Plus, the only conversation we should be having about Kanye West right now, how Jacquemus’ Instagram kerfuffle showcased how complicated the ‘diversity in fashion’ conversation is and Izzy’s horny expedition with the Calm app. Then, it’s onto everyone’s favourite subject: relationships. Daniel Sloss’ Netflix stand-up ‘Jigsaw’ has broken up 20,000 couples (and counting). Why is his pro-single message so powerful? How can we start to normalise being alone? And where is the line between accepting that no relationship is perfect, and settling for the wrong relationship?
As always, rate, review and subscribe. We love you and we’ll see you on Saturday. <3
