Warnie is keen to bring in Mitch Duncan to nullify one of Roy's point of differences due to the Cats' favourable match up.The boys run the numbers to see which teams have the best Fantasy match ups for the final two rounds of the season. Geelong take on Fremantle this weekend, the fourth easiest team to score points against and then Gold Coast in the Grand Final. Both games are at GMHBA Stadium making Gary Ablett, Patrick Dangerfield and Sam Menegola popular options to trade in.Some coaches want to go against the trends to find a point of difference. Round 20 was epic for many reasons. There were the incredibly close contests, the players making inspiring comebacks and controversy at every turn. For AFL Fantasy coaches, it was all about the qualifying and elimination finals.Continuing the trend of recent weeks, round 20 was a high scoring affair. The weekly winner, Anthony Crutchley, was able to rack up a whopping 2780 points with his team full of midfield beasts that saw half-a-dozen of his chargers score more than 130 points.Although Team Crutch dominated the round, the best possible 22 racked up an almighty score. If you nailed the highest point scorers per position, 3103 points would have been your round 20 total.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

With his price back to where it started and sights set on the next record, breaking Tom Rockliff's 134.8 average from 2014, Mitchell is a set-and-forget captain week-to-week.While the Hawk's form has been outstanding, he's the most popular player in Fantasy Classic. S5 Ep 57Stocktake - Episode 210
Finally, the bye rounds are over and Fantasy coaches around the country are looking forward to 'normal' rounds of footy for the next nine weeks... with a sprinkling of Thursday night games.Following the three multi-bye rounds, coaches approached the challenging weeks with two things in mind; fielding 18 players each week and making their teams better without sideways trading. The Traders had that goal and, as a whole, they've achieved their aim with their nine trades. This year, Warnie is enjoying the most success of the trio. Prior to round 12, the Warne Dawgs were ranked at 2373rd and almost halved their ranking to 1203rd during the three-week stretch. Jack Macrae's injury and Jack Billings' omission were his only sideways trades, but the other seven were about moving on cash cows. His team is now down to one rookie, Tom Doedee, on the field with only a couple of underperformers he wishes to move on.If it wasn't for a sub-1600 score this week, Roy would have played the byes to perfection. The coach of destROY took his team from 2730th to 1517th overall without trading one premium out of his squad. He is down to two rookies on field, including Bayley Fritsch who, in Roy's words, isn't going anywhere with his recent form.Staying strong with his trading philosophy has helped his recent rankings rise.It hasn't been Calvin's year. While his overall ranking has improved slightly, 9136th to 8780th, he has continued to be dealt an ordinary hand. Many of the rookies he took a punt on didn't earn the desired cash and therefore his ability to upgrade players on his field across the byes was limited.Team Calvinator now has some MID/FWD links for extra flexibility within his squad and while he still has some rookies on field, things are looking up. Holding Billings could possibly see luck swing back in his favour if he remains on the wing. The boys take stock of their teams as they approach the five weeks before finals on this week's episode of the Official AFL Fantasy podcast.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S5 Ep 49Rocky II - Episode 202
We could see a record for the most traded in player this week. Tom Rockliff (MID/FWD, $545,000) is the man on everyone's mind as trades for round 11 are locked in.Things haven't exactly gone right for the Fantasy Pig since joining Port Adelaide in the off-season. Shoulder surgery meant for an interrupted pre-season and a knee injury kept him out of both JLT Community Series games.Rockliff suited up in round one, playing predominantly forward, for a score of 52. Even his greatest supporters jumped off straight away, a decision that proved to be the right one as he followed up with 33, 78 and 43 for an average of 51.5 in the first four rounds of 2018. At this point, he was $195K cheaper than his initial price.Unfortunately a slight calf strain saw him out of the senior side in round five. Rockliff needed two games in the SANFL before making his return against the Crows in the Showdown in round eight. An ancient Fantasy footy proverb states that "you can't keep a Fantasy Pig down".In the home-town derby, Fantasy coaches around the country saw the player they'd loved over the last few years at the Lions. Rockliff racked up 31 disposals and his trademark tackling was back, laying nine for the match. His 127 was backed up the week later in Shanghai with a score of 106 as he once again cemented his place back in the midfield.Timing is everything in Fantasy football. On the eve of the bye rounds, getting Rocky at a bargain price with his acquired forward status is a gift from the Fantasy Gods. Not only is he cheap, Port Adelaide and Gold Coast players are trade targets as they'll be playing through the upcoming multi-bye rounds.Roy, Calvin and Warnie discuss the big Fantasy issues of the week which includes trying to uncover a reason as to why you may not take Rocky this week.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S5 Ep 47Back In Jack - Episode 200
Some would argue that there have been plenty already, AFL Fantasy coaches will be facing their first big challenge of the season; the byes. After their sojourn in China last round, Gold Coast and Port Adelaide will enjoy their week off a little earlier than the rest of the competition. Normal rules apply for Fantasy Classic. That is, scores from the 22 on-field players will count this round and the regular two trades to use to manage squads.Appearing in more than 31 per cent of teams, Robbie Gray is the most popular Power or Suns player who will be missing this round with the bye.The rules are tweaked for rounds 12-14 to help coaches tackles the multi-bye rounds. The best 18 scores from the 22 players on-field will count for the weekly score and three trades are allowed leading into each of these rounds. It is widely considered that the bye rounds is moving time for Fantasy coaches. The aim is to come out on the other side with much better squads. Using the three trades available, coaches to be seeking to trade out cash cows and upgrade while fielding the best players possible.Working towards a 'completed' side by bringing in the players deemed to be in best 22 come season's end is preferable.Roy names up his best six defenders, eight defenders, two rucks and six forwards. It changes weekly based on form, but be believes this crew is who coaches should be aiming for.In the back line, Rory Laird, Elliot Yeo, Jake Lloyd, James Sicily, Kade Simpson and Jeremy Howe are his go-to players. The engine room includes the in-form Jack Macrae and Ed Curnow, with Fantasy stars Tom Mitchell, Patrick Dangerfield, Nat Fyfe, Adam Treloar, Stephen Coniglio and Scott Pendlebury rounding out the top eight.Max Gawn and Brodie Grundy look set to make up the preferable ruck combination.A blanket could be thrown over the forwards, but Roy thinks Isaac Heeney, Toby McLean, Lance Franklin, Robbie Gray, Tom Rockliff and newcomer to the list, Jack Darling should be in the sights when completing the crew up front. The big Eagle has been in magnificent from in recent weeks. Scores of 101, 113, 121 and a blistering 151 thanks to a six-goal haul on Sunday has put Darling in the mix as one of the desired picks according to Roy.Roy, together with Calvin and Warnie debate which players should be in Fantasy coaches' sights as they aim to improve their squads over the next month on this week's episode of the Official AFL Fantasy Podcast. Also in this week's podcast:- All the action from round nine- News from around the grounds, including Magoos News- Trade tips for round ten and a look at the byes- Your questions answeredSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S5 Ep 45Fantasy Regrets - Episode 198
Regrets. It is at this stage of the season that they start sinking in. AFL Fantasy coaches rue almost every decision they make. There are some that will spit the dummy five minutes into their first game after trading someone in because they haven't already had 10 disposals and kicked a goal. Now that we are more than a third of the way through the season, we can take a step back and can see what has worked and what hasn't.Warnie had a decision to make at the start of the season. Jack Billings or Isaac Heeney. It was a 50/50 call. Billings finished last season in cracking form but missed some of the pre-season due to a hamstring injury. The Saint played a cracking game in the final JLT Community Series match and that was enough to go with him over the consistent Heeney. If the coach of the Warne Dawgs went the other way, he's currently be sitting inside the top 500 coaches overall in Fantasy Classic.Don't get him started on other calls, but there are plenty of sob stories out there. Calvin has had a ridiculous amount of bad luck. Some of his so-called premiums have failed to fire while Roy can't get his rookies right, whether it is the right downgrade or who to play on his field.A common trend for coaches adding their two cents to the list of regrets include trading an underperforming premium to only see them regain form. Dayne Zorko deserved to be moved on, but has scored 176 and 115 in the last two weeks. Choosing to bring back Zach Merrett after missing his big scores when the opportunity was there to bring in Jack Macrae. Having Jesse Hogan as a point of difference all pre-season only to dump him just before lockout.Everyone has a story and The Traders share a few on this week's episode of the Official AFL Fantasy Podcast. Roy, Calvin and Warnie discuss their Fantasy Classic and Draft regrets but keep the glass half-full as they look towards a big round nine before the bye round tactics need to be employed.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S5 Ep 43Hold Or Fold - Episode 196
A lot of experienced AFL Fantasy coaches will tell you to back your premiums. "They'll come good" they say. They suggest to build your team around the out of form players and it will be better in the long run.Up until this week, Dayne Zorko (MID, $576,000) owners could be forgiven for not heeding this advice. The man who averaged 114 last season was having a stinking start to the year averaging 66.5 and with his scoring gradually getting worse with a run of 72, 63, 55 and 43 up until round six.His 176 on the weekend was not only the highest score of the round, it was a reward for the 3.9 per cent of coaches who opted not to trade him out in Fantasy Classic.Already this week he is one of the most popular players traded in after dropping a total of $229,000, the most of any player this season. A breakeven of 58 means Zorko's price will be heading north of the $576,000 he is currently valued at.Zorko faces the Bulldogs this week and last time he played them at Etihad Stadium, he scored 157.Jack Billings (FWD, $551,000) appears in more than 25 per cent of teams and his coaches have been frustrated by his season to date. Scores of 64 and 66 in the past fortnight has seen his price drop to $115,000 below where he started and he is showing he is a long way from the premium selection many initially thought. The Saint averaged 94.5 last year in what was a breakout season for the 22-year-old.A key statistic is that he averaged more than 100 in St Kilda's wins last year. In their only win of 2018, he scored 123. From round seven Billings averaged 101.3 after starting the year averaging 76.6. This year he currently averaging 78.6. Could we see a turn around?Another player who coaches expected more from is Luke Parker (MID, $623,000). The Swan was seen as under-priced at the start of the year due to the fact he has averaged 110 previously.A midfield spot is wasted on a supposed premium Fantasy player who has scored 73, 80 and 73 in the last three weeks.Similar to Billings, Parker's season started slowly (no tons in first seven weeks of 2017) but improved from this point. The 26-year-old went at 108 points per game from round eight. Will history repeat? The Traders discuss whether you should hold or fold under-performing stars on this week's episode of the Official AFL Fantasy Podcast.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S5 Ep 41Cash Cow Culling - Episode 194
Although there were a few premiums that let AFL Fantasy Classic coaches down on the weekend - Roy is filthy with Patrick Dangerfield, Calvin isn't happy with Kade Simpson and Warnie is ready to rage trade Luke Parker - it is the bargain basement players who dictated a lot of the scores over the weekend. Many coaches moved heaven and earth to get Tim English (RUC/FWD, $427,000) onto their field last week by 'throwing' away a bench ruck spot. His dual position status meant he could slot into the Fantasy 22 up forward. Why were coaches keen on doing this? His three previous scores of 86, 90 and 107 were far better than what was being dished up by other rookies.English scored just 38 last Friday night to start the weekend on a sour note. The Bulldogs' second year ruckman has increased $240K and his breakeven (the score needed to maintain his price) is now 43. As a result, some coaches are looking to use his value to upgrade him to a premium in the forward line. He's not the only cash cow whose time is up.Nick Holman (MID, $355,000) saw his first price drop this week after posting 30 against the Crows. His season earnings sit at $185,000 and with a breakeven of 68, this may start dwindling considering his average over his last five games is 56.The Sun is currently the most traded out player ahead of round seven.Playing Nicholas Coffield (DEF/MID, $354,000) for his 21 points in Tassie caused a few headaches when he was unique in a head-to-head match ups. As the Saints' breakeven is now 52, getting close to his average of 60.5, his price growth might be limited.Roy, Calvin and Warnie discuss which players you should consider the traditional upgrade/downgrade moves with this week on the Official AFL Fantasy Podcast. S5 Ep 37Beware The Tag - Episode 190
Tom Mitchell. He's the most popular player in AFL Fantasy Classic and, quite unbelievably, he went up $45,000 from an already ridiculously high starting price. Scores of 156, 137 and 148 meant that he was the set-and-forget captain option for the year. That was until Sunday afternoon.Melbourne sent Nathan Jones to the most recent Fantasy Pig to be snouted and unfortunately, he was held to 83 points at his sty, the MCG. The tag was an issue for Mitchell as he wasn't able to score as freely as he did last season and during the opening three rounds. This week he comes up against Ben Jacobs. The North Melbourne stopper accounted for Patrick Cripps (76) last weekend and held regular 100 plus scorers Clayton Oliver (88), Seb Ross (91) and Jarryd Lyons (84) to modest totals.Cash cow Bailey Banfield is not only racking up solid scores himself, but restricting others. The Docker spent time on Lachie Whitfield in round four, restricting his influence at half-back to a score of 66. Previously he held Zach Merrett to 78 and Aaron Hall to 14.Geelong's Scott Selwood is always a worry when he matches up on one of your gun midfielders. Port Adelaide have had Brad Ebert and even Tom Rockliff play negating roles this year. Will we need a new skipper for round five when Jacobs takes on Mitchell? 64 per cent of the competition will need to tune into what Calvin has to say on this week's episode of the Official AFL Fantasy podcast as The Traders talk taggers.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S5 Ep 35Dominant Rucks - Episode 188
Brisbane Lions ruckman Stefan Martin is the toast of AFL Fantasy coaches this week. The big man is behind Max Gawn, Nic Naitanui and Brodie Grundy on the ownership table however, the 16 per cent of coaches who backed him in are stoked with his output against a ruck-less Port Adelaide.Martin finished with 49 hitouts (Justin Westhoff won 15 as the Power's ruck) and added 30 disposals, seven marks and seven tackles to his stat line to post a career-high 177 Fantasy points on Saturday afternoon at Adelaide Oval.It appears that rucks coming up against Port Adelaide are in for a field day.So far Aaron Sandilands (111), Callum Sinclair (93) and Martin (177) have enjoyed playing the Power while Patrick Ryder is on the sidelines. The Saints and Cats are also clubs that you can expect your ruck to score well against based on the data from the opening three weeks.Solo rucks is where it's at in Fantasy. You want your ruckman to go about it alone. At the start of the season there was some trepidation around picking Grundy with Mason Cox in the side. Cox has played two of the three games (he was suspended in round two) and Grundy is the top scoring ruck thus far. Cox has been playing as a deep forward with limited time on the ball.Melbourne and Brisbane Lions have conceded the least amount of points to rucks. Gawn and Martin have been dominant - although they nullified each other in round two - winning the majority of hitouts and collecting ball around the ground. Also in this week's podcast:- All of the action from round three- News from around the grounds, including Magoos News- Trade tips for round four- Your questions answeredSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

S5 Ep 31Fix-It Trades - Episode 184
Fantasy coaches will be assessing their squad after the first weekend either lamenting some bad picks or celebrating the nailed initial selections.Trading following round one is all about fixing up mistakes.Early in the week Rage Trades are the go. Flicking a premium that didn't live up to their asking price can be therapeutic, but isn't always the best strategy. It is advised to back in your guns. That is, unless the role didn't look pretty in the case of Tom Rockliff or you're playing the breakeven game with Zach Merrett, you should hold.Priority should be based around bringing in cash cows.If you missed Nick Holman, Tim Kelly, Tom Doedee, Tim English, Sam Murray, Bayley Fritsch, Dom Barry or Jeremy Finlayson, look to bring them in. It might be at the expense of a draftee whose cash generation may look limited or if someone in your squad didn't play on the weekend or is dropped for this week.Rage trading is fun, but make sure you look to make your team better for the long-term.Also in this week's podcast:- All of the action from round one- Hits and misses in initial team selection- Fantasy statistics and trends- Tips from 2017 winner Selby Lee-Steere following round one- Your questions answered from social mediaSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
