Mir Tamim Ansary is an Afghan-American author who left Afghanistan in the early 1960s. He has written many books, including "West of Kabul, East of New York", "Games Without Rules", "Destiny Disrupted: A History of The World Through Islamic Eyes" and "The Invention of Tomorrow".
In this interview he talks about his childhood in Afghanistan, his extraordinary family background, growing up in America and his views on the current situation in both countries and beyond.
