Manildra Group ordered to fund $170,000 in community projects after grain spill
The Manildra Group, an Australian agribusiness, has been directed by the New South Wales Environment Protection Authority (EPA) to invest $170,000 in local community projects following a significant grain spill at their Shoalhaven Starches facility in Bomaderry. The incident occurred in October 2024 when two silos collapsed, releasing 2,000 tonnes of wheat into the Shoalhaven River. Although emergency teams managed to stabilize the site and prevent severe nutrient pollution, the EPA mandated the company to take action.
