Joel Micallef, a man found not guilty by reason of mental impairment for killing his partner Nikkita Azzopardi, was found dead in his jail cell. Micallef, who suffered from schizophrenia, was awaiting transfer to a secure mental health hospital. Azzopardis family remembers her as a kind and trusting person.
