Liana France, Australias youngest female winter Paralympian, made history at the Milano Cortina Games, finishing 15th in the womens giant slalom standing event. Georgia Gunew, the 23-year-old flag-bearer, placed 11th in the vision-impaired giant slalom. Both athletes drew inspiration from challenging circumstances, with France inspired by a Peppa Pig episode and Gunew by her childhood idol.
