Show Notes

Adam welcomes rock legend Sammy Hagar to the show, and talks with him about his new book, 'Red: My Uncensored Life in Rock.' Sammy says he has trouble reading the book because of some of the dirt that gets revealed. Adam talks to him about Eddie Van Halen, and how their relationship changed over time. Sammy also talks about the experience of the band's 2004 Reunion Tour, and discusses the impact of alcohol on performing.

Adam and Sammy speak a bit more about live performances, and Adam complains about having to perform three times in one night but still having to make each show seem as good as the first. They also talk about Cabo Wabo tequila, and how the sale of the company has led to Sammy being able to make music his hobby instead of trying to make a living off it.

Adam asks Sammy to discuss the origins of his nickname, 'The Red Rocker,' and talks to him about his early days growing up in Fontana with a boxer for a father. They then talk about what inspired him to play music, and take us through how he made it to Van Halen, and how he still continues to work on exciting music projects like Chickenfoot. Wrapping things up, Sammy says that under the right circumstances he'd gladly be with Van Halen again, if only they could get along better.
