All of our ItsyBitsy boards use Micro USB connectors, so despite USB Type C being all the fashion, we're going to continue with sourcing a Micro USB connector for the ESP32 board we just designed.
We've learned a lot from years of using Micro USB connectors on the pick and place line. All SMT is a big no-no - go with thru-hole mounting holes for good mechanical security and allow for big pads for lots of solder! Join us as we find a few good options for folks who want to continue using Micro-B connectors in their designs.
