Sparkfun came up with Qwiic and really changed how easy and fool-proof it is to use I2C sensor - and likewise we dig the new flex connector standard that DFRobot came up with for their displays. It has 18 pins so plenty for SPI, I2C, power, and a few extra GPIO. It's designed for displays so we're calling this EYE SPI! We hope it becomes a standard pinout way to connect SPI displays to microcontrollers! With rev B of this breakout, we even got the pinout right and ready for manufacturing.
