This week we spent a lot of time on revisions! This means we're not able to spend as much time on new products - but it's important to make sure existing customers can keep using our parts. For example, the Ultimate GPS USB board got a respin https://www.adafruit.com/product/4279 to move to the CP2012N and also USB C. We have a few more boards to go for the CP210x revisions. We also decided to revise our PCF8523 breakout - historically we've used the SOIC-8 version, but now we may only be able to get the HVSON-8 version for a few months. Since we can redesign the PCB to use either, we're making a 'flip flop' design. Finally, ESP32 QT Py got fabbed, but we're having issues during test. We think it could be due to the antenna being too strong and interfering with the chip. We could redesign this for uFL connector change the pi-network values to reduce the signal strength a bit. We also got our FLIPPER ZERO https://flipperzero.one/ this week, this adorable mammalian engineering multi-tool has a lot of RF and hardware interfacing built in and it looks great! The Great Search - Triple-Axis Magnetometer replacement for LIS3MDL https://www.digikey.com/short/nwmdj44n One part that's been holding up a lot of our products from staying in stock is the LIS3MDL - originally this was a $1 triple-axis magnetometer that paired well with IMU chips for making full-fusion orientation sensors. Now they're going for $20 on the gray market and estimated ship date of 2059 (e.g. 'who knows'). Since we were out of IMU chips for a while, we were OK waiting. But now we've got some in stock and with no end in sight, we're thinking of just replacing the LIS3MDL. Especially since the magnetometer is not the most sensitive sensor in a 9-DoF (that would be the gyro). Lets identify a sensor with about +-20 gauss (+-2 mT) range, I2C interface, and affordable enough so we don't have to change our prices. #deskofladyada #thegreatsearch #adafruit Visit the Adafruit shop online - http://www.adafruit.com ----------------------------------------- LIVE CHAT IS HERE! http://adafru.it/discord Adafruit on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/adafruit Subscribe to Adafruit on YouTube: http://adafru.it/subscribe New tutorials on the Adafruit Learning System: http://learn.adafruit.com/ -----------------------------------------
