Every Sunday we work on a new STEMMA QT board - this week we made one for the MCP9601 - an I2C capable thermocouple sensor. This is one of the only I2C thermocouple AFE's we've seen, and we've already got a library for the earlier MCP9600. (The MCP9601 adds open-thermocouple detection!) We also worked on the Feather M4 CAN - with Arduino and CircuitPython support nearly wrapped, its time to finish the hardware. We have a few changes we made to reduce the power draw and got down to 250uA in sleep mode....but could we go lower?

To make our new Feather design low power friendly, we're going on a hunt for a replacement of the AP2112-K 3.3V regulator. Hear why we love the AP2112 and also why we have to find an alternative - can we find one that's close-to-drop-in compatible?? Tune in to find out!
