Santa Cruz police and fire departments pulled two people out of the Pacific Ocean Monday afternoon when part of the Santa Cruz Wharf collapsed into the ocean and was seen floating away; Five skiers were transported to the hospital Monday after an “incident” on a chair lift at Heavenly ski resort in Lake Tahoe, according to Tahoe Douglas Fire Protection District Assistant Chief Bryce Cranch.
