It's Thursday and you know what that means: An all new Aaron Torres Podcast. Aaron discusses Michigan's dominant win against Minnesota and wonders if the Wolverines - not Villanova, Texas or anyone else - is the third best team in college hoops and then recaps a wild SEC game between Arkansas and Tennessee. Finally, he welcomes in his buddy, Tuscaloosa radio host Ryan Fowler to preview next week's national championship game between Ohio State and Alabama. Here is a rundown of today's show:
Who's No. 3 in college hoops + Arkansas-Tennessee recap: Aaron opens the show by asking: We know Gonzaga and Baylor are at the top of the sport, but who's No. 3? He believes the answer might be Michigan, which is the only undefeated team in the Big Ten and dominated a good Minnesota team on Wednesday night (3:30). He explains who the Wolverines are, what makes them special and wonders if Juwan Howard should be the early National Coach of the Year favorite. Then he transitions to the big tilt Wednesday in the SEC between Arkansas and Tennessee, and explains why there is a lot to like and a few concerns for each team moving forward (19:00).
Alabama radio host Ryan Fowler previews the college football title game: Finally, Aaron wraps the show with a look ahead to Monday's national title game with Alabama radio host and longtime friend Ryan Fowler (30:30). Ryan explains the mood in Tuscaloosa right now, where Alabama just claimed another Heisman Trophy, lost Steve Sarkisian to Texas and are trying to win a title all at the same time. He then tells you what the key matchups are in Monday's game and what this title would mean for the Tide and SEC if they were to win Monday.
