Show Notes
It's Monday and you know what that means, another, brand new edition of the Aaron Torres Sports Podcast! Aaron discusses all the big topics of the day before he is joined by Kentucky legend Patrick Patterson for a riveting, half-hour sit-down. Here is a rundown of today's show:
NFL Draft, Wake Forest and Greg Brown: Aaron recaps the weekend that was in sports, starting with the NFL Draft. He discusses why the "draft from home was a riveting success" and why the NFL deserves credit from pressing on with the draft when some thought they should postpone it (4:30). He then discusses Wake Forest's firing of Danny Manning and says who he thinks will be next (23:30), as well as Greg Brown's commitment to Texas over the G-League (36:00). Tough day for the "college basketball is dead crowd," huh?
Patrick Patterson joins the show: Aaron welcomes in Patrick Patterson for a riveting half hour interview to discuss his time at Kentucky and in the NBA (47:00). Patrick discusses his recruitment, and the funny story of why he didn't commit to Duke. He also discusses the tough first years under Billy Gillispie, the transition to John Calipari, and the first time he saw John Wall, DeMarcus Cousins and Eric Bledsoe in practice. He also discussed the legacy of that 2010 team, Calipari's decade at Kentucky and what he is up to during quarantine.
