Show Notes

It's Thursday and you know what that means: An all new Aaron Torres Podcast. Aaron recorded immediately after Wednesday's Jimmy V Classic, where Gonzaga and Baylor won convincingly and appear to be separating themselves from the rest of the pack in the sport. Then he discusses the mess with Big Ten football and previews a light weekend in college football. Here is a rundown of the show:

Baylor and Gonzaga win at the Jimmy V - are they starting to separate themselves?: Aaron open the show by discussing the two big games on Tuesday night: Baylor-Illinois and West Virginia-Gonzaga. He starts with Baylor and asks, is it possible that a team that won 22-straight games is better this season than last (3:30)? He then transitions to Gonzaga, which survived a scary injury to Jalen Suggs and a surprising performance from Andrew Nembhard to get the win (13:00). It also leads to this: Are the Zags and Bears are beginning to separate themselves as the two best teams in college basketball. Then he shouts out Shaka Smart and the Texas Longhorns, which clinched the Maui Invitational on Wednesday (24:30).

The Big Ten's football mess + a weekend preview:
Next up Aaron discusses the mess in the Big Ten. As Kirk Herbstreit predicted, Michigan is out this weekend and could be out for next week's Ohio State game - yet now it appears as though the Big Ten is willing to bend their rules to get Ohio State in the conference title game (28:00). While Aaron is in favor of it, he wonders: Why is Ohio State allowed to bend the rules, but not Nebraska which tried to schedule a non-conference game and got media backlash earlier this year (34:30). Finally, he previews a light Saturday slate.
