Show Notes
It's an all new Aaron Torres Sports Podcast, as Aaron recaps an upset-heavy weekend in college basketball. He discusses the fall of the top teams in college basketball, as well as James Wiseman's first public comments. Then he welcomes Rhode Island coach David Cox to the show. A complete recap of the day's show:
Baylor, Gonzaga and San Diego State lose -- what does it mean? Aaron opens the show by discussing a chaotic Saturday in college hoops where Baylor, San Diego State and Gonzaga lost. Aaron discusses the losses, the fact that Kansas has emerged as the title favorite and what do those losses mean for the No. 1 seeds in the NCAA Tournament (5:00)? He also explains why, for all his off-court faults, Saturday showed why Bill Self is a Hall of Famer.
James Wiseman speaks and the rest of college hoops: Aaron then moves to the rest of the weekend that was in college hoops, including James Wiseman's first public comments since leaving Memphis (25:30). Aaron explains why, while the adults in Wiseman's life are to blame for his depature, Wiseman also said some things that should be pretty concerning for NBA folks. Finally, with Selection Sunday three weeks away, Aaron discusses four teams you don't want to see in your bracket (36:00).
Rhode Island coach David Cox joins the show: Aaron wraps the show by showing you a different side of college hoops by welcoming on Rhode Island coach David Cox. Rhode Island is currently on the bubble, and Cox explains what it is like to be in "must win" mode every game, where one loss can knock you off the bubble. He then discusses what makes Dayton so great, and his former boss Dan Hurley, now the head coach at UConn.
