Awarded by the prestigious Mangeshkar Alankaran Award in 2008, National classical vocal category, the singer talks about her ‘musical’ upbringing in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, also the birthplace of the Late Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar.
With her extensive work in Indian musical theater and Bollywood playback singing, with stalwarts such as Shankar Mahadevan & Salim-Sulaiman, Pratibha Singh Baghel has devoted herself to the art of classical Hindustani music with a strong, contemporary/global appeal .
‘Inheritance’, produced & arranged by Deepak Pandit, is Pratibha’s second collaborative album with the renowned violinist-composer and is an ode to the romantic spirit of thumri.
