Victoria has announced statewide bans on smartwatches, phones and earbuds across all schools from Term One next year. The reforms expand the government's 2020 phone ban to include all Victorian schools, including private institutions, requiring phones to be switched off and stored away, smart devices to have notifications and internet disabled, and wireless earbuds banned during school hours. Exceptions will be made for students who need devices for medical reasons.
