US President Donald Trump has warned Iran to keep the Strait of Hormuz open, threatening to resume military attacks if they don't comply with demands that Iran never possess nuclear weapons and maintain open access to the waterway. The strait is currently effectively closed with only a handful of ships passing through since a ceasefire began, though Iran has indicated willingness to discuss the waterway's management in direct talks scheduled for Saturday.
