US President Donald Trump has set a deadline for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz or face destruction of civilian infrastructure including bridges and power plants across the country. Trump has criticised Australia and other allies including South Korea and NATO for refusing to join offensive military action in the ongoing conflict. The deadline expires at 10am Wednesday Australian Eastern Standard Time, though Trump suggests Iran may be negotiating in good faith.
