Donald Trump has ordered the U.S. Navy to blockade the Strait of Hormuz, threatening to attack any Iranian vessels that interfere after peace talks in Islamabad failed to produce a ceasefire agreement. Middle East analyst Dr Roger Shanahan questions the feasibility of the blockade and notes the UK has denied reports of providing assistance. Diplomatic efforts are expected to continue over the coming fortnight as both sides remain at a stalemate.
