Sydney's train network experienced major signalling failures at Town Hall and St James stations, causing delays of more than an hour on the T2 Leppington and Inner West line, T3 Liverpool line, and T8 airport line. The breakdowns occurred after weekend trackwork upgrading signalling equipment and laying new rail line at the same two stations. Premier Chris Minns apologised to commuters and confirmed an investigation is underway to determine if the delays are linked to the recent upgrades.
