Queensland's new adult crime, adult time laws show a 1.2% overall decrease in crime rates. Break-ins have dropped nearly 10%, robbery is down 10.6%, and stolen car offences have decreased by 5.6%. However, finalised court appearances have dropped 13% as offenders are being directed to diversion programmes rather than jail, raising concerns among some victims about the actual number of offenders being incarcerated.
