Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is undertaking a four-day emergency mission to Brunei and Malaysia to secure long-term fuel and fertiliser supplies for Australia. Brunei supplies 9% of Australia's diesel imports and 11% of fertiliser grade urea, while Malaysia provides 13% of diesel needs and 10% of urea. Vice Admiral Mark Hammond has been appointed as the new Chief of Defence, becoming the first person to rise from enlisted sailor to the top defence position, while Lieutenant General Susan Coyle has been named the new Chief of Army.
