A Perth petrol station, Burk Fuel, is under investigation by Consumer Protection for allegedly selling lower-grade 91 octane fuel as premium 95 or 98 octane. Owner Umar Farooq denies the allegations and claims his business is being unfairly targeted due to its competitive pricing. The state government has confirmed it is investigating the octane quality of Burk's fuel, with testing frequency increased from once every three months to every two weeks.
