Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has convened his National Defence Council one week before elections, claiming a plot to blow up a Russian gas pipeline. Serbian officials report finding two backpacks of explosives several hundred metres from the pipeline on their territory. Security experts had previously warned that Orban, a close Putin ally, might stage a false flag operation before the poll to blame Ukraine.
