NASA has announced plans to establish a $30 billion lunar base on the moon's surface, marking a significant shift from its previous Gateway space station project. The space agency will invest approximately $20 billion over seven years, building the base in stages through dozens of missions with commercial and international partners. NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman also revealed plans for a nuclear-powered spacecraft to Mars by the end of 2028.
