Australia's inflation rate cooled to 3.7% in February, down from 3.8% in January, with underlying inflation holding at 3.3%. Economists warn that inflation could surge above 5% in March as the impact of soaring petrol and diesel prices from the America and Israel war on Iran hits the economy. Treasurer Jim Chalmers has cautioned business leaders that the economic shock from the Iran conflict could exceed the impacts of COVID-19 and the Global Financial Crisis.
