Viktor Orbán has been ousted as Hungary's Prime Minister after 16 years in power, losing in a landslide election to Peter Magyar. The new Prime Minister-elect secured a two-thirds majority, with European leaders celebrating the defeat of the authoritarian leader who had been a close ally of Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump. Orbán had used his position to block EU sanctions on Russia and $150 billion in aid to Ukraine, whilst leaking details of EU meetings to the Kremlin.
