Australian food suppliers and grocers are warning of imminent price increases as soaring petrol costs from the Middle East conflict impact farmers and retailers. A survey reveals 90% of retailers are experiencing rising fuel costs, with only a quarter currently passing these on to consumers. Historical data from the 2022 Ukraine war showed bread prices rising 14% and steak 24%, with regional and smaller retailers expected to be most significantly affected by the current supply chain pressures.
